DR and SP-Systems Interoperability Standards Released

Version 1.0.0
The Digital Convergence Initiative (DCI) is excited to announce a major advance in our mission to improve social protection systems: the release of Version 1.0.0 of the Disability Registry (DR) and Social Protection Systems (SP-Systems) interoperability standards. We are pleased to share that these standards have received endorsement from the USP2030 Partnership on a no-objection basis!
These standards emphasize the interoperability requirements between the Disability Registry (DR) and Social Protection Management Information Systems (MIS). They provide examples of the types of information that SP-Systems may need from DR, and vice versa, to foster more inclusive social protection and optimize support for individuals with disabilities who are applying for or have received official disability status in accordance with national laws and regulations.
The information contained in DR can vary significantly from one country to another. Therefore, these standards have been developed based on observations from a variety of countries, aiming to facilitate practical interoperability with SP-Systems in diverse contexts. It is important to note that the standards do not address how to build a Disability Registry or its interoperability with other systems, such as healthcare MIS.
This significant development represents the culmination of extensive research, collaboration, and a rigorous review process that has unfolded over the past several months.
This achievement has been made possible thanks to the dedicated efforts of a diverse group of experts who have lent their knowledge and insights. The Standards Committee, which includes representatives from 15 different organizations, has worked tirelessly to create these standards.
