The 4th “Talking Interoperability” dialogue series discussed the experience of the Chilean Ministry of Social Development and Family with its integrated Social Information Registry (Registro de Información Social – RIS). RIS contains information on a large majority of the country’s population and is available to more than 50 state administration bodies, the country’s 345 municipalities, and accredited research universities. This means a number of challenges to improve interoperability and data protection. This session also covered data governance practices to address the relevant aspects of handling data in a secure and well-documented manner.
