From November 17 to 20, 2025, the Digital Convergence Initiative (DCI) held a training workshop on Digital Transformation and Interoperability in Social Protection in Lima, Peru.

The workshop gathered representatives from social programs, as well as the education, health, labor, and local government sectors, with the goal of strengthening capacities and promoting more integrated and efficient social protection systems.

Sessions focused on modernizing information systems, improving data management and use, and advancing interinstitutional interoperability to deliver services that are more timely, inclusive, and transparent.

A key message throughout the workshop was that digital transformation is not only about adopting new technologies, it is also about rethinking the way public policies are designed and implemented. Through shared learning and dialogue, participants worked to identify opportunities for improvement and foster coordinated, sustainable solutions.

By bringing together key actors committed to innovation in social protection, the workshop created a collaborative space to advance toward a more agile, reliable, and people-centered system, one where technology strengthens both the quality and accessibility of public services.

This workshop was organized in collaboration with the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the ILO International Training Centre, within the framework of the Digital Convergence Initiative (DCI), and was co-financed by the European Union and German development cooperation.
